Job-related language course
Duration: 300 teaching units

Funding opportunity: Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).Since 2016, it has been possible to take advantage of job-related language support for people with a migration background. Job-related German language support builds directly on the integration courses: Immigrants learn everyday German in the integration courses. In subsequent vocational language courses, job-seeking migrants and refugees are continuously prepared for the labor market. The vocational language courses are made up of various courses that can be individually combined in a modular fashion and combine German lessons with measures offered by the Federal Employment Agency. Each course concludes with a certificate examination. The certificate you receive can be very useful in your future career.

Target group
Immigrants, including refugees who are in the process of being recognized and have good prospects of staying (the latter applies above all to the four countries of origin Syria, Iran, Iraq and Eritrea). Refugees from safe countries of origin are excluded.

Prerequisite for participation
The employment agencies and job centers decide who can take part in the vocational language courses. Even if you are in employment, you can take part in professional language courses if you do not yet have sufficient language skills to cope with everyday (future) working life.
- You have already completed an integration course and/or already speak German at A1, A2, B1, B2 or C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). To attend courses with target language level A2 and B1, prior attendance of an integration course is included. German test for immigrants that has been taken and not passed. This requirement must be met by tolerated persons in accordance with § 4 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 2 DeuFöV, who do not have access to the integration course, cannot be fulfilled.
- You must be registered as a jobseeker and/or generally receive benefits in accordance with SGB II (Hartz IV) or SGB III (unemployment benefit); you are looking for a training position, are already in training or are currently undergoing the recognition procedure for your vocational or training qualification.
- You go through the recognition procedure for your vocational or training qualification.
- They have a migration background and a need for further language training. I.e. you belong to one of the following groups:
- Immigrants from third countries, including tolerated persons according to § 4 para. 1 sentence 2 DeuFöV and permitted persons according to §§ 4 para. 1 sentence 3 DeuFöV in conjunction with 45a para. 2 sentence 3, 4 AufenthG. Permitted persons from countries of origin with good prospects of staying are eligible to participate. These include Syria and Eritrea as of 01.08.2019.
- Citizens of the EU,
- Germans with a migration background.
- You have already completed an integration course and/ or already speak German at level B1, B2 or C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Contents
The B2 course comprises 400 or 500 teaching units and aims to achieve language level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The language lessons have a general vocational focus. The course concludes with a certificate examination.
Making friends
To really understand other people, you need a good understanding of language, it is the basis for mutual understanding and a sense of each other.
Participation in cultural life
With German language skills you will gain an insight into life, you will not only understand German-language films, but you will also be able to go to the theater and talk about it with your friends afterwards!
Traveling becomes easier
Use your knowledge of German to deepen your travel experiences not only in German-speaking countries, but also in other European countries, especially in Eastern Europe.
Writing increases communication
Today, we communicate with each other very often in writing, in e-mails or in messenger services. A good knowledge of German will help you!
Be safe on the road
When you are on the move, you often have to quickly gather and process a lot of information at train stations, airports and when entering the country.
Access to education
18% of the books in the world are published in German and only a few of them will ever be available in an English translation.
